Four Roads To Travel

The Road To Conversion

Saul's heart was filled with hate and pride.
He was there that day when Stephen died,
As he guarded the clothes of the men who cried,
" Stone him! Stone him! This man has lied!"

Soon after, he asked of the priest one day,
For letters to arrest these men of "The Way".
He figured Damascus a likely spot
To put in action a vengeful plot.

As Saul neared Damascus that glorious day,
The Lord struck him down with a blinding ray.
Jesus spoke to Saul as he lay on the ground,
"Amazing Grace, How Sweet The Sound!".
Acts 9:1-20
The Road To Service

Cowardly robbers carried out their black deed,
Leaving their victim near the road to bleed;
And, perhaps, to die; but they didn't care.
He had given them their costly fare.

A Priest came that way: "Please help!", he cried.
He quickly moved to the other side.
Later, a Levite;"Kind sir? Please, have pity!"
" I've no time, poor man. Past due in the city!"

A Samaritan came....... but never mind,
His religion is of a different kind.
The Samaritan stopped; gave a helping hand.
Which one was really the religious man?
Luke10:29-37

The Road To Fellowship

The two of them walked the seven miles,
And talked on the way of all the trials
Jesus had known before He had died.
"Now it's over! He's gone!", they softly cried.

A Stranger neared and took up their way.
" Why the long faces this beautiful day?"
" Jesus, our friend, was unduly tried
In an unfair court! Then on Friday He died!"

" Dear doubting friends! Take a good look and see
If I am not Jesus? No grave could hold me!"
They joyfully begged Him to stay with them,
He did! To share Scripture which spoke of Him.

The Road To Suffering

We wish we could know that man from Cyrene
Who carried the cross for the Nazarene.
What did he do to earn such a task?
Was it forced on him? Or did he just ask?

Would one ask to carry such a cross of shame?
Yes, one Person did. Jesus Christ was His name.
And He still has a cross for us to bear,
And carry alone...or at times to share.
