The Bible does not cover-up Rahab's immoral trade.
Neither does it hide from view the wrongs that David made.
Simon Peter cursed that night as he denied the Lord,
Yet later he would write to give great trues found in the Word.
Paul, as Saul, was there that day approving Stephen's death.
He watched him kneel and pray for them to his final breath.
Many folks in Bible times, like us, had feet of clay.
God's mercy reaches out to all today; as yesterday.
Why Rahab took her sinful path, it simply isn't known.
Wanting for a freer life, she stepped out on her own.
She did not know that she was part of God's eternal plan.
She saved two spies from certain death and one became her man.
His name, Salmon! He worshipped God. He took her from that place,
And she became a part of royal lineage by God's grace.
She's listed in the faith roll-call;the only woman there!
With Abraham and Moses, and others in God's care.
She's called a righteous person in the Book of James.
I know it does now please her. Folks called her other names.
God changed her life and changed her heart and changed her sinful way.
He does the same for those who seek forgiveness here today.
She had a son named Boaz. Boaz married Ruth
She gave birth to Obed...Jesse next; and here's the truth!
Jesse fathered David; this line leads to Christ's own birth!
Rahab's in the lineage of the Lord of all the earth!
She was a scarlet woman who used a scarlet rope
To give the spies a way to leave, and give to her some hope.
She and her folks were rescued; things turned out very well.
Rahab claimed their God for hers. The God of Israel!
