Uz

Do you know me? Nobody does.
My grandpa's Shem. My name is Uz.
I'm known for nothing, but if I had a "D"
I'd be "Duz Does Everything". I'm just me.

Some call me the desert where Job had birth.
Or the place Dorothy blew when she left the earth.
To others I'm Uzzah who reached out and gripped
the ark when oxen pulling it tripped.

Uzzah died in his tracks and the others were scared.
to move any further, for they weren't prepared
for God's wrath which struck with all of it's might.
So there it remained with Obed the Gittite.

For three months the ark had a place to rest
in this home ; and each day it was there they were blest!
David heard of the news and went out to bring
The ark to his city and make offering.

There is also Uzzi , Uzal, and Uzziel.
Each has his own story that he can tell.
I don't have a story as Uzza does.
Aram is my father and my name is Uz.

Genesis 10:23; II Samuel 6:3-8; Alice In Wonderland; Ezra 7:4; Genesis 10:27; I Chron. 7:7
