The Christmas Boat Parade

Rockport can pride ourselves in many wonderful events that happen here during a year. The Gospel Music festival in January draws thousands of listeners and participants from all over the country. The art festival, hummingbird festival, auto shows, kite flying, Christmas lighted boat parade....... uh...can I take that one back. We joined Bob and Jimmie Box at a parade sight and waited for hundreds of decorated yachts, sailboats, shrimpboats, deep sea fishing boats, sleek speedboats, et. al. The christmas tree lit up on Rockport beach. Beautiful! Now the parade of lighted boats. Here they come! A big beautiful barge-like boat complete with a christmas tree. Wow! A lovely sailboat with lights reaching into the sky. Wow! A low-slung but nicely decorated boat. One more. Over! Done. End of parade. Four decorated boats and hundreds of carloads of folks waiting expectantly. A lighted Christmas boat parade? Not.
