Teddy Bear

Freedom of religion has become more dear
since reading of a teacher who now lives in fear
because of Muslim clerics who went on a tear
when hearing what her children named a little teddy bear!

Sudan is a republic, controlled by military
those of non Islamic faith should be very wary.
The country is so very poor, less than half can read.
Why cannot those who wield control see their people's need?

The lifespan of a Sudanese man is fifty-four
The woman's average life is only four years more.
Per capita GDP is thirteen hundred dollars
One bearly can survive on that while their cleric hollers.

about some class of little kids and what they named a bear.
Why, with all their people's needs, would they even care?
We're thankful that we're HERE today and no where over there.
No cleric can throw me in jail for what I name my bear.
