SO MUCH NEWS

Isn't it interesting there are times when it is same-o-same-o with nothing of note happening. Life is a bore...almost. There are other times when news stacks on top of news and we have difficulty sorting through it all and deciding priorities as it has personal implications. This is a newsy week and a busy one for us. All the news is not good. Some we cannot share right now. Other news saddens us as twisters struck in my home state and took many lives and much property. Tornadoes come with little warning and no respect. Their power is legend. They have brought havoc over the years in Arkansas. One came across the schoolyard when my older sister was teaching. It lifted the roof slightly where she and her students were and then settled it back down. Other parts of the little town were not so fortunate. Sixteen persons died and the old downtown part of Greenwood, Arkansas was destroyed. I was told by a woman from Saragosa, Texas how a tornado struck the meeting hall in that little west Texas town. They were having a graduation ceremony for children. Many children and parents were there. They had just a few moments warning. Several were killed. Then she told me sadly. "The building had been a church at one time and had a storm cellar beneath the room where we were. No one remembered the shelter until after the storm". Tragic. So many today are forgetting the church offers a storm cellar through Jesus Christ. "A Shelter In The Time Of Storm".That shelter is often forgotten until too late. Think about it.
