I was watching my favorite place, Africam.com at 3:30 this morning. I had neck injections yesterday afternoon and the needles must have hit my no-sleep nerve. Anyway, it was almost noon over there in Africa. The watering hole was quiet except for a couple of impala. From the bush lumbered an enormous male water buffalo. He had not a fear in the world as he came down to the watering hole. Instead of plunging in he easily stepped to the edge and almost sipped the water, then quietly went around the hole and strolled casually back into the bush. What an incredible animal of power! He may deserve King of The Jungle. I have a reason to say that. I researched Water Buffalo and came up with an incredible movie now on U-tube. It shows a pack of lions attacking a young water buffalo at the edge of some water. The buffalo was forced into the water where a crocodile got hold of him. Talk about a bad hair day! The croc was pulling on one end and the lions on the other. Then it happened. A mighty herd of water buffalo moved toward the battle in closed ranks. When they got closer a powerrful bull made a lunge at a lion and sailed him through the air! Then another and another. The young water buffalo somehow managed to get on land. The other members of the pride knew they were in battle. One by one the water buffaloes chased the lions away. The herd rescued their little one. I don't know if he can survive but I would bet he might. Yes, I now can see how the water buffalo may be the most feared animal out there.
