The sun is warming things rather quickly telling us another hot day is in store. No rain in the forecast. The formal opening of hurricane season has a tropical storm already stirring waters off the shores of Mexico. Most schools are out. Fuel expenses are keeping some people closer to home, rather than heading for Disneyworld or Yellowstone. Church doors will be open and the meeting places reasonably cool. Good things will happen at some of these places. At others it will be business as usual. Bibles will be opened and lessons taught. Some will engage in political talk and turn others off who might disagree with what is being said. People who are sick and suffering will be prayed for. A minister will stand in his/her place and present a lesson or sermon, hopefully from the Bible. Some will have gone to church early. Others on Saturday evening. Most will not go at all, opting for home or Lowes or Wal Mart or whatever. I wonder what God is thinking as He gazes down on the first Sunday in June in Texas. Is he pleased? Disappointed? Angered? He does have patience. Infinite patience. I am grateful for that.
