Several months ago a woman showed me a picture of the old community church she attended many years ago in Maryland. It was a small white- frame building, well kept. There were two front doors. In our conversation she said the worshippers coming to church entered one door. As they left they exited the other door. At first I thought that rather strange. As I considered it more I decided it was a great plan. A gentle reminder that the worship time had made a difference so each worshipper would exit a different door than the one they came in. So often we go to church and after all the activities and songs and worship we gather our Bible and purses and belongings and leave the same way we came in...both externally and internally. How much better to leave with new insight and dedication and purpose. We leave excess "baggage" behind. Why not try leaving a different door or a different way next worship time? I don't know if this verse has relevance to my writing but here it is: "But when the people of the land come before the Lord on the appointed feast days, whoever enters by way of the north gate to worship shall go out by way of the south gate; and whoever enters by way of the south gate shall go out by way of the north gate.He shall not return by the way of the gate through which he came..." Exekiel 15:9
