For we who reside along or near the Gulf coast all tropical storms and hurricanes are of interest and concern. We know they are unpredictable and quirky. They control us for a period of time. Sometimes they do more than that. Such may be the case for GUSTAV. Researching the name I found it Swedish in origin. Several of their kings have been named GUSTAV. More interesting than that was a report in Wikipedia of a crocodile on the Nile river named GUSTAVE. He lives in Burundi. He is estimated to be at least TWENTY FEET LONG and weighing about one ton. I don't know that anyone has actually measured the old boy or put him on the scales. He is estimated to be about 65 years old. He is the biggest crocodile in Africa. He hasn't been seen for awhile. He is marked with scars from bullets. Attempts at trapping Gustav have been futile. He can go and do and pursue what he likes.
Knowing all that, from my Wikipedia makes me hope this storm is kingly rather than crocodile-like. We shall see. The bottom line is that we have about as much control over GUSTAV the storm as Burundians have over Gustave. What does he eat? I guess you could say, "Anything he wants". A park ranger found evidence that Gustave killed and ate an adult hippo. "Get the Rolaids, Mama!".
