The Big Day

It is a big day, this August 29, 2008. It is the day our son-in-law, James Duprie, stands on the sidelines for the very first time as a Head Coach at Nixon-Smiley high school. Weeks and months and years of coaching has brought him to this position. They are his team for better or for worse. He cannot play. The young men from Nixon-Smiley will have to do that. The results are in their hands. Flatonia is their foe. This team has a player who was most valuable in his district last year. He is a fleet running back. Flatonia's team is filled with experienced veterans. A victory will not come easy. We hope to be there tonight cheering the Mustangs to victory.

In the meantime GUSTAV is churning about somewhere out there. Projections cover a wide area. Our location in Texas is on the edge of the projection. HANNA has also appeared and poses a threat to the Atlantic coastline. It could be a very interesting next several days. Some sage said: "Everybody talks about the weather, but no one does anything about it". That's about it. We watch and wait....for the Mustangs and for GUSTAV, the king or crocodile. "See you later, alligator!"
