Do we need a truck? Half of the household says "no", but still we have one with HER full cooperation. Can you imagine what I did to two dear friends? They found a truck in Tyler where they live. The price was right. I sent them to look at it and they were impressed. I asked them to put money down and I would be there with the money Monday morning. Then they began to worry! "We can't buy a truck for someone else. He hasn't even seen it or kicked the tires." I reminded them I bought a motor home in Phoenix on E-Bay and had never seen it! Worked out fine. So Ann and I traveled to Tyler and ferried home our new addition. It is a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500. It is not a HEMI. They didn't have them in 98. It has 78000 miles and was owned it's entire life by the city of Denton. Driven by a building inspector. Serviced regularly and parts were replaced when needed. For $3600. I am happy with my truck. I think it will get me to a hunting lease near Brady. I sure hope so.
Did you ever pick out something for someone else when they were paying for it? If you have you know how difficult this can be. I really did not know the trauma they were both experiencing. It didn't bother ME. I told them I would have the final say and if it broke down on the way home it was my baby. That helped a little. I did call them when we arrived home today. I old them the wrecker had just dropped the truck off in our driveway and things would be okay. Isn't that awful? Glad to be home for a few days.
