I Like Ike?

Back in the fifties when the famous general of World War II was running for President we saw (we who were here) posters with this slogan I LIKE IKE. Of course many many Americans did like Ike for he was our most famous General. Some others wanted to be but he really was.

Today as we arrived back in Rockport and discovered the Town in a preparation mode for a hurricane named Ike we are not so sure. The projected target as of six PM was less than thirty miles from our house. That is a bit too close for comfort so we will begin boarding windows in the morning, pack some food and belongings and head for Nixon where we spent the last week. This Ike may not be a hero to anyone. He is already disrupting lives and activities in Rockport, Texas, this September 9, 2008
