A LONG SEASON

Tonight the Nixon-Smiley Mustangs play their final game of the season against Poth. It oth. We plan to be there. In Jame's first season as a head coach he has three wins. Tonight could make it four. They had only won a single game in the last two years. He has had to battle a losing attitude. It has permeated the entire football program. Dempsey played as a starter on offense-defense on the seventh-grade team. They were winless with a tie to their credit. It is a really big job to create a winning attitude after losing a lot. It can be done, however. I have seen it in churches and homes and athletic programs. When a person gets pegged as a "loser" he has a lot to overcome, but it can be done. I like the verse "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me". That fits all of life's settings, I think.

In my college years at Ouachita Baptist College our football team had a difficult start. I think it was the seventh game before we scored a touchdown. We celebrated! Three years later they were winners. It was attitude. Are you defeated when you "lose" a few times? You can be, but you don't have to be. Have physical difficulties gotten you down? You can still go on.Are you following the Dallas Cowboys? The same players have gone from winners to losers and it is largely attitude....and egos.

Attitude! It is vital in all of life. You can even lose and have a winning attitude.
