BLOOPERS

BLOOPER is a reasonably new word. I first became acquainted with it in listening to baseball games. A blooper hit was a low line drive that would drop between an infielder and an outfielder. It was not high enough to allow a player to run under it. It was too high for an infielder to grab. A blooper! Bloopers are as good as screaming grounders that get by an infielder. They just don't look as pretty. They are hits that bring a laugh from the spectators. Bloopers count, however.

There are DUMB MISTAKES called bloopers. You may have heard or read these. You know what they meant, but what they meant and what they said in wording or spelling are entirely different. Thanks to John G.in Kansas for sending these to me. They are church-related.

The Fasting & Prayer conference includes meals.

The sermon this morning: "Jesus Walks On Water". The sermon tonight "Searching For Jesus".

The peacemaking meeting scheduled for today has been cancelled due to a conflict.

Don't let worry kill you off - let the Church help.

Miss Charlene Mason sang: "I will not pass this way again", giving obvious pleasure to the congregation.

Irving Benson and Jessie Carter were married on October 24 in the church. So ends a friendship that began in their school days.

The church will host an evening of fine dining, super entertainment and gracious hostility.

Potluck Supper Sunday at 5:00 PM. Prayer and medication to follow.

This evening at 7 PM there will be a hymn singing in the park across from the church. Bring a blanket and come prepared to sin.

It is very important to proof-read that which we write OR SAY. Sometimes even proof-reading will allow missteaks to get by. Often those missteaks cannot be retracted and we have to live with the boner pulled. It rarely happens to some. Well I am done. Well done.
