Without a doubt the highlight of our little anniversary jaunt was Ann getting to spend part of an afternoon and evening with three of her classmates from nursing school. Five of them were especially close during those days and years following. Martha has died. Jo, Marge, Jeanah, and Ann were together and I guess they had a great time. They talked non-stop. I was enjoying time with their three husbands; Eddie, Don, and John. It was all planned at the last minute. The four couples were from Pearland, College Station, Kansas City, and Rockport. Amazing that it came off but it did. It was special.
We are back in Rockport with the Duprie family at our house. Tomorrow Bobby and Janell, Ann's brother and sister-in-law,come for a visit for a couple of days. We will be wishing for the B & B we stayed in Friday night in Gonzales. It was the Kokernut home of 1914. There were 29 rooms, seven baths, and six fireplaces. It even had a resident ghost. However, he didn't show while we were there. More about Gonzales tomorrow.
