SAN SABA AGAIN

The Lord willing, we go to San Saba tomorrow and stay until Saturday. Sunday we go to church in Nixon and then celebrate Emily Duprie's ninth birthday. San Saba is the nearest town to the hunting lease. I am moving the RV that was our home there. We do not plan to hunt there next year. It is a great place but too far to travel to and from.A six plus hour trip is simply too far from home at this point in time.

Emily is playing basketball. She is in a league of third-fourth graders. In her first game last Saturday she stole the ball twice. She took a shot but missed. She is an excellent shooter for her age. I asked her why she missed. Her answer was something like this: "They get up too close so I can't shoot!". I thought about that. It is like an introduction to real life. Often our goals in life will be more difficult because of others getting too close, trying to prevent us from making it. It is an "in your face" world. To score and attain one must learn how to work her way through all the obstacles, however tall they may be.One must wait for a clear shot and then hit it. Practice is important. Practice with competition is more important. There is always someone else who is bigger and better. Keep shooting Emily! Learn to move around those who would block you and rob you of your goals. You can do it, but it takes a lot of work.

You will be Museless until Monday. Try to make it. I bet you can.
