It is hard to remember the last soaking rain here in Rockport. A lot of folks think because we live on the coast we get rain all the time. Not so. This drought, however, stretches across hundreds of miles of Texas. The hurricane last fall that devastated the area around Galveston brought no rain at all to us. It is nearing planting time for South Texas farmers but they cannot plant. Ranchers still holding on to cattle are feeding them daily. It is serious business. At least for those of us down here....... but travel across the country and folks have had more rain and snow and soon, melting snow and floods, than they can remember. Too much. Too little. Too cold. Too hot.
We live in an imperfect world. It is even reflected in the weather patterns, it seems. At a time when the economy seemed to be booming...the WHEELS CAME OFF! Some are comparing it to the days of the Great Depression. Not too many CEO's jumping out of windows, though. They have learned to grab the loot and parachute! So what do we do? Those with faith and trust in the Lord just going on living and doing and being and believing that God hasn't turned the controls over to Satan. We all still have a purpose to fulfill and a mission to reach. We have a God to serve and a Savior who loves us and gives us life abundantly. "My God shall supply all your needs ,,,,,"
