No, Calvin isn't the first storm of the hurricane season. He is our almost- two grandson, and son of James and Laura Duprie. Their family are guests to a trip to Puerta Rico during spring break. Calvin was not going to occupy a seat so would have been held for some five plus hours. We volunteered to keep him, not really thinking they would go for it. They did! So, tomorrow afternoon Laura brings Calvin to Corpus Christi where I will be having a thallium stress test and echocardiogram. (No, not to see if I am up to Calvin! It was already scheduled.) It will give Laura and James a real break and allow them to do some things with just Emily and Dempsey. Often the older children are put on the back burner when little one comes along. We will have a great time with Calvin. He loves to have books read to him. He loves to eat. He loves to play. He does not care for conversation so does not talk. He grunts a lot. He is ever so smart and so aware of what is going on. He can talk if he cares to, he just doesn't care to. He plays the harmonica, piano, and organ. He also plays Dempsey's drum set. He can lift his own weight! Calvin has a temper and will throw a tantrum. They are very brief. He understands a wooden spoon and so responds to the threat of that weapon. He is strong-willed and quick to smile. We are looking forward to eight wonderful days with Calvin Duprie.
