I have some interesting coffee mugs, collected from various places we have been. The latest mug is one our daughter, Laura, brought me from Puerto Rico. It has a picture on it of a small frog that only lives there. The frog is a Coqui, pronounced "Ko-Kee". This little frog is only about an inch long. It sings a pretty song that can be heard at night. The Coqui has become a symbol or a mascot for the people living on that island. They heard the frog, but they never saw one. A walk through a rain forest brought them within feet of the tiny singers, but not one was seen. From the picture on my mug I would say they didn't miss a lot. It is a solid brown color. It has feet made for climbing and perching on trees and leaves and plants.
Do you hear a lot of voices today, singing their various songs, but never showing their faces? I do. Voices are heard on our phones and radios. They can sing us sweet songs of things they have to offer, but we can't see them. They are Coqui people. Some are Kooky people. I want to see the one making the voice. I like to peer into his face and watch his eyes. Our friends, Bill and Ethel Muskopf, are spending several weeks in the East to sell their Spray and Grow products on QVC. These are wonderful products of vitamins and fertilizer for the garden. Bill is on the show when his product time comes up. He faces the camera. He talks to people who call in. There is a real person to be seen who knows the product better than anyone else in the world, and he is not afraid to be seen with it.
We should be wary of Ko-kee like voices who sing their capsuled songs, but never show their faces. Some will probably call you today, or send a brochure.
