It may seem a bit late, but today I am going back to the classroom. No, it is not post-doctoral or even BA level. Not even high school. I am going back to my favorite place for schooling, the elementary level. I am an invited "birding" guy, to be interviewed by Mrs. Groseclose. There will be two classrooms of students present. I am excited and nervous. I hope I can remember those three little words.....I don't know!
Today in Rockport the Hummer Bird Festival begins. It will draw close to 2,000 people over the next four days. Tomorrow morning I lead two tour groups to humming bird homes. At one site there will be banding of the little critters. It is an amazing event. The schools are dismissed tomorrow so the buildings can be utilized by various classes. Kids are urged to attend.
I also plan to drive to Goliad this afternoon for Dempsey's eighth grade football game at 6:15. I plan to return tomorrow evening for the varsity game. Saturday we will take Emily around to the interesting classes for her. She is really a good birder.
Busy four days? As Calvin would say..."Yep" !
