For you who don't really care a lot about sports.... erase this BLOG and move on with your day. There is simply too much news for me to ignore some comment.
DALLAS COWBOYS - In it's opulent setting the Cowboys had a game plan best suited for a rotting Junior High Stadium somewhere. They managed to lose to the largest crowd ever. They have told Tony Romo not to run and thus took from him what made him best in times past. Did anyone tell Fran Tarkenton not to run? He played for about fifteen years. I missed TO like a boil on my big toe.
ASTROS FIRE MANAGER - Missed that one. He wasn't very good, for sure. Unimaginative at best. The real culprits were some lazy, overpaid players; only one decent pitcher; a swap-players philosophy that left them dead in the water; and no toughness at all.
TWEETING CAN BE BAD FOR YOUR CAREER - Robert Henson, a rookie linebacker for the Washington Redskins, and a benchwarmer, "Tweeted" about the Washinton fans for booing during and after the game. His comments were: "All you fake half hearted Skins fans can.....I won't go there but I dislike you very strongly.....who are you to say you know what's best for the team and you work 9-5 at McDonalds" What is wrong with this scenario? First, these are some of the most rabid fans in the business. Secondly, if they are working at McDonalds they cannot afford a ticket to the game. Thirdly, these are the folks who pay his over-paid salary. I hope he paid attention while in class. A second career may be in the making.
HIGH SCHOOL RANKINGS - Anyone following high school football knows the better teams year after year are in other parts of the state. However, there are a few good teams down here. One of them is Ingleside. This 3A team, along with Sinton, are both undefeated. Each has beaten a team from a higher classification. Neither made the top ten in 2A and only Sinton received any votes (2). I think we will see Sinton and Ingleside as two undefeated teams playing each other at the end of the regular season.
There it is, sports fans, more than you cared to know about Cowboys and Indians; firings and rankings. Start looking for your umbrella. You are going to need it..... hopefully.
