shot. That's right! I got the flu shot today at the VA in Corpus Christi. It really hurts! I don't remember other ones hurting like this one has. Maybe it's the strain of flu they are trying to protect me from. Flu is definitely a No No for we "seniors" at this point in time. They told me the Swine Flu injection would be available mid-October. I want to get that one too.
We visited a friend in the hospital this afternoon. There were Flu warning signs everywhere. For a few moments I was putting on an ugly yellow gown to wear into the patient's room. Another nurse vetoed that so the gown found it's way to some waste can.
I think the powers that be expect a really bad flu season. Pharmaceutical companies are preparing to help us by only charging $10.00 a tablet for Tamiflu. I bought mine a couple of weeks ago but decided not to take it. I have nine of them. If a need arises among my friends or family for Tamiflu I can help them quickly...and make enough money for a cruise. (Just kidding! Don't e-mail me!) I really DID think that was a bit steep in these times of emergency.
The pricers must have gotten experience during some of our recent hurricanes. Speaking of hurricanes..... where are they? That's okay. Let them be. We did get enough rain in the last week to turn grass green again and pop out little rain flowers. Enough.
