The Muse is Loose

It was quite a football night here in South Texas. Rockport got a much-needed win at the expense of Ray. Sinton squeezed by again, remaining undefeated. Door mat of the past, Taft, is the brightest thing in that beleagered city. They are UNDEFEATED! Last night over in Gonzales the Goliad Tigers faced another hard night. They were O-6 going in. It is hard to snap out of losing. Someone remembered Yogi Berra's words, "It ain't over till it's over". The lead changed hands several times. At the end of regulation the score was(I think)34-34. After the first overtime it was 41-41! Finally at the end of the second overtime GOLIAD had their first win of the year. 47-41. (I think) We were getting reports from our excited daughter who was at the game. We opted out of going last night because of the distance involved. Whatever the numbers, these kids and coaches can enjoy Saturday morning just a little more than usual. It will be short-lived, for next Friday they face the powerhouse from Cuero, ranked FOURTH in the state! Well, "It ain't over till it's over"! (Are you sure, Yogi?)
