Willie sings it well: "On the road again. I just can't wait to get on the road again......". I am not as excited as Willie. After all he had a bus and a band and something to smoke. I don't want any of those. We are on the road again, Lord willing, so the BLOG will be silent until....well, until the next time one is written.
Dempsey plays in an eighth grade game at 5:15 in Palacios. We plan to be there. Will drive a ways after the game and tomorrow proceed to Richland Springs and the hunting lease. No, Ann is not taking up the sport. She and Betty Booth Everett will light up San Saba for a couple of days while Deryl and I work at the lease. See why I am so excited? San Saba is the self-proclaimed pecan capitol of the world. The drought has been devastating and it is too early for the Fall crop, if any. I guess they will just hang out and......talk!
Plan to head back this way Sunday but may dally along the way. I hope we hit cooler weather. Also, hope it will hit Rockport with rain. Eddie (or Edie) the great egret is prowling our backyard again. He/she stands and looks at the empty fish pond. I may buy her some goldfish before I leave to keep her company.
