WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS

Morton Salt is credited with that catchy slogan. They were suggesting the salt would keep coming out of the box, even in the rain. Not last night in Rockport, Texas. The box would have disintegrated or simply floated away. We had one of those rains you expect with hurricanes or tropical storms. The lightning display was more brilliant than a Fourth of July fireworks show. Some are saying we had TWELVE INCHES. I am having no problem accepting that figure.More is expected today as a front approaches. This, of course, is a much-needed re-supply of water for the most severe drought in many many years. Isn't it interesting how these things happen in various areas of life? There are times when everything seems to be going great. Then, clouds roll in and storms arise from all points. We wonder why us. We look for relief and there seems to be none at all. God knows all this. It isn't a game He plays with us. It is life. Dr. Denison wrote this week an interesting observation. Simple but profound. Tomorrow does not even exist! There is no tomorrow - yet. There might not ever be one. Even so, it isn't here yet and so it does not exist. All that to say, "This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it." Last night and today the rains have come in torrents. There may be more later. Tomorrow? What is that.? It doesn't even exist!!!!!!! yet.
