ON THE ROAD AGAIN

Willie Nelson sings it and we practice it. "On The Road Again". Our trip this time is to visit an ailing brother of Ann's in Dallas. We will go by Goliad and watch Emily in her second basketball game of the season. Last week she scored ten points in a winning cause.

I really didn't mean to be prophetic when I wrote earlier this week of the winter olympics: "The bobsled runs look deadly and sometimes are". Moments ago I saw the film of an awful accident on a run that claimed the life of a luge sledder. Most sports have an element of danger.

Having seen interest and attendance drop off, the "good old boys" on the car- racing circuit have eased their safety restrictions. There just weren't enough crashes. It is looking like a good move. Wrecks are up. What a crazy sport that is. As they made it safer the people lost interest. Kinda' like de-teething the lions in the Coliseum. Nero would not have bought into that. Young cowboys are now wearing face masks and helmets in bull riding. Personally, were I to be in bull-riding I would wear full body armor. That is just about the scariest sport out there.

So, dear BLOG reader, take a break from dalepogue.com and The Muse Is Loose. Hopefully, I will join you again in a week or so. Dallas is not my favorite city. In fact, I have no favorite city, unless it is Santa Fe. Let me leave you with a Word from the Word: " If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." I Timothy 5:8. Seems like I heard something about that just a few days ago from our pastor.
