The storm gurus have spoken. They are predicting sixteen storms in the Atlantic who will earn a coveted name. Nine of them will become hurricanes. Five of them will be "biggies". Which one of these has OUR name on it for 2011? We hope NONE of them, but time is running out. There has been no major hurricane slamming our coastlines in nine of the last eleven years. We have not had one in the Rockport area for many, many years. I have "boarded up" twice and no storm came.
Here are the names. Care to pick one as "our" storm? I had rather not. I have friends and relatives on this list, including a son and grand-daughter! Take your pick if you are a picker. Arlene, Bret,Cindy, Don, Emily, Franklin, Gert, Harvey, Irene, Jose, Katia, Lee, Maria, Nate, Ophelia, Phillippe, Rina, Sean, Tammy, Vince, and Whitney. There they are; names awaiting storms to be assigned them.Some will be the BIG winners and we will be the losers.
