It was beautiful! For about three hours it fell, bouncing off the sidewalk and street. Rumblings of thunder at times, but never close. Some winds, but mostly rain!
Our gauge in the back yard showed more than two inches fell. Some folks got more. It was a general rain, falling on sorely needed crops of corn, milo, and cotton. I think my tomatoes liked it too, although the vines had never seen rain before.
We are grateful to the Giver of Rain for this blessing. In a year when so many have had far too much rain and snow we had gone without any. This sandy soil will suction up each drop rather quickly. In a day or so there will be little sign that it came, except through smiling flowers and plants.
"He bestows rain on the earth. He sends water upon the countryside." Job 5:10. "Thank you, Lord"
