If you live along the coast of Texas you are watching this storm named Don. He is more than six hundred miles from us this Thursday morning, but with nothing to impede the progress Don could arrive at destination sometime late Friday. So far no one is using the word "hurricane". That of course could change.
Will it break the drought or put a dent in it? We only have to wait and see. I know many many people have been praying for rain. The matter is quite severe. Whether Don does part of the job of drought busting remains to be seen. He could be the start however. These systems can come in and stall and severe flooding occurs. We don't want that. It could take a turn to the right and leave us high and dry. We don't want that. It could gain strength and becoming a raging hurricane. We don't want that.Bottom line is that none of these events are in our hands or control. We trust in the Lord and accept the results.
So we wait and see. Boarding up is only if there is a significant change. We may want to get in lawn chairs and things that could blow about. It would be good to check natural drainage to assure a free flow of excessive water. Drinking water should be on hand other than the faucet.
It's all up to Don right now.
