It is half time. There will be no miracle finish with the Dallas Cowboys. They are mounted up and galloping off into the sunset. Houston is our lone NFL representative. The best teams are the ones with the best quarterbacks. They also have to have capable help in front of them and wearing earphones on the sidelines.
Some great college games should still be in the offing. Whether or not you are a Baylor fan you have to be impressed with their end of season showing. They were FUN to watch! The Aggies won with no Head Coach on the sidelines.Maybe THAT is the key!
On a more serious note....that Mayan Calendar. Some hear it saying December 21 of this year will wrap things up. End of the world! I am wondering if anyone has let God in on this. Somehow those dates were left out of His Book, and it hasn't been wrong yet. What does the Book say about days and years?
"Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect." Matthew 24:44
"From everlasting to everlasting you are God....For a thousand YEARS in your sight are like YESTERDAY when it is passed."Psalm 90: 2;4
"Now, after you have known God, are rather are known by God; how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements to which you desire again, to be in bondage? You observe days and months and seasons and years. I am afraid for you...." Galatians 4:9-11
"Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you." Revelation 3:3
As with our own lives, God will close out history in His own Divine choosing. Our greater concern is that we are prepared for that time. Preparation is clinched with a belief and trust in the Son as our Savior. That done, there is nothing to fear.
